Be Mindful of What You Speak
Share

Our words shape more than just moments, they shape lives.
Some things we say without thinking.
Some things we laugh off like they don’t mean anything.
And some things we say out of habit, frustration, or pain.
But here’s the truth, our words carry weight.
What we speak over ourselves, over our children, over our relationships, over our lives… it echoes.
And eventually, it shows up.
You can’t keep joking about always being broke and expect abundance to find you.
You can’t keep calling yourself tired, unlucky, stuck, or “not built for love”, and then be surprised when life starts to reflect those words right back at you.
Because your words?
They’re seeds.
And every time you speak, you’re planting something in your spirit, your relationships, your future.
So the real question is:
Do you actually want to grow what you just planted?
This doesn’t mean you can’t be honest.
It doesn’t mean you can’t have hard days or express frustration.
But it does mean we need to stop speaking death over the things we want to live.
Stop tearing down what we’re trying to build.
Stop using our words to curse what we’re secretly hoping will heal.
And when it comes to our kids?
We have to be even more mindful.
Telling a child they’re “just like their no-good daddy” might feel like a quick jab, but it lands deep.
Telling them they’re lazy, too sensitive, dramatic, or a burden?
That sticks.
It shapes how they see themselves, long before they ever get the chance to decide who they want to become.
So let’s do better.
Let’s stop saying things we don’t mean just because we’re angry.
Let’s stop repeating things we heard growing up that didn’t serve us.
Let’s start speaking life over ourselves, over our children, over our relationships, over our dreams.
Speak life when you’re tired.
Speak love when you’re disappointed.
Speak growth when you’re afraid.
And speak truth, the kind that uplifts, heals, and reminds people who they really are.
Because this isn’t just about being positive.
It’s about being responsible with the power you carry.
So if you wouldn’t want it to become your reality…
Don’t speak it. Not even as a joke.
What you speak has a way of becoming what you live.
Speak like it matters.
Because it does.
Pause for a moment and ask yourself:
What words have I been speaking lately, and are they building the life I truly want to live?
